The San Diego Chargers took the first step in trimming their roster Sunday, releasing 11 players following their 16-15 loss to the Seattle Seahawks Saturday.
The list of players includes:

RB Jahwan Edwards
LB Curtis Grant
LB Brock Hekking (injured)
T Forrestal Hickman
TE David Paulson
QB Chase Rettig
DL Luther Robinson
TE Logan Stokes
Four more cuts need to be made by Tuesday, as the team’s roster must be trimmed to 75 . They will have to cut 22 players in total by next Saturday, following their preseason finale against the San Francisco 49ers Thursday.
“Unfortunately, the next couple of days we’ve got to get down to 75,” head coach Mike McCoy said to Chargers.com Saturday. “But I think a lot of players played extremely hard. No one has anything to be ashamed of.
The team plans to put Hekking on injured reserve once he clears waivers, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
He suffered a lisfranc foot injury in the loss to the Seahawks.
