The Sweetwater Valley Little League all-star team is again scheduled to begin play in the Little League World Series Friday in South Williamsport, PA.

The team was scheduled to begin play in the 16- team tournament Thursday, but its game was postponed because of rain, along with the other three games planned for the day.

All 16 teams are scheduled to begin play in the modified double- elimination tournament today.

Sweetwater Valley is again scheduled to play the team representing Kentucky’s Bowling Green Eastern Little League, the Great Lakes Regional champion. The game is set to begin at 11 a.m. Pacific time and will be televised by ESPN.

Bonita-based Sweetwater Valley is 16-0 in its four tournaments, including outscoring its four opponents, 50-22, in the West Regional to become the 11th team from San Diego County to qualify for the Little League World Series.
