The Sweetwater Valley Little League all-star team’s opening game in the Little League World Series today in South Williamsport, Pa., was rained out and rescheduled for Friday.
Heavy rain fell Thursday and was expected to continue into Thursday night.
“In an interest to give all teams the opportunity to play with full player availability and ideal field conditions, keep the Little League Baseball World Series on schedule, and provide fans and visitors with the best experience, we have decided to hold all first-round games tomorrow,” said Patrick Wilson, Little League International Tournament Director.
The game against the team representing Kentucky’s Bowling Green Eastern Little League, the Great Lakes Regional champion, is scheduled to begin Friday at 11 a.m. PDT.
