The San Diego Chargers are making it a ‘priority’ to extend the contract of young defensive end Corey Liuget, NFL.com reported on Monday.

While contract extension talks for Philip Rivers and Eric Weddle have fallen by the wayside, it’s Liuget who may end up with a contract extension.

Liuget, 25, was the Bolts’ 2011 first-round selection and has played in 61 0f 64 games over his first four seasons.

Last season he accumulated 4.5 sacks and has 18 on his four-year career. Over that time he has forced four fumbles, recovered four fumbles, racked up 127 tackles and scored a touchdown.
