SDSU baseball is heading to Lake Elsinore to play in the UCSB bracket of the NCAA regionals, the selection committee announced Monday morning.
The Aztecs earned a berth to the playoffs after winning the Mountain West tournament over the weekend for a third straight season.
They hold the No. 4 seed in the bracket and will play No. 1 seed UCSB on Friday at 7 p.m. Other teams in the bracket include USC and Virginia.
UCSB was granted home-field advantage by garnering the No. 1 seed in the bracket, but their venue is not big enough to hold an NCAA regional, so the games will be held at Lake Elsinore Diamond, home of the Lake Elsinore Storm.
SDSU makes an appearance in a regional for a third straight season, and are the only team representing the Mountain West.
To clinch their appearance, the Aztecs defeated New Mexico 6-4 in the MW tournament final. After losing their first game in the tournament, they pulled off five straight wins to capture their third straight tournament title.
