It’s never to early to prepare whether you are going to be in a competition or watching from the sidelines.

That said, a traffic advisory during the Ironman Triathlon on March 28 in Oceanside has been issued.

Oceanside will welcome the Ironman Triathletes who will compete during Ironman California 70.3 and the visitors who want to watch.

Please note the following road closures and parking restrictions during the event:

Road Closures March 28:

South Harbor Drive closed 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. (resident access for slip renter and Marina Del Mar only – expect delays)

Pacific St. from Breakwater Way to Harbor Dr. north.  6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pacific St. from Pier View Way to Seagaze Dr.  6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pacific St. from Wisconsin St. to Eaton St. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (resident-only access with escort, expect delays)

The Strand North closed from Breakwater Way to the Pier from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Alternate resident free parking in lots 20 & 21 between Surfrider Way and Breakwater Way

The Strand South closed from Wisconsin St. to Pier 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Alternate resident free parking in lots 26 &27 between Wisconsin St. and Seagaze Dr.

Mission Ave closed from Meyers St. to Pacific St. from 4 a.m. -to 4 p.m.

No Parking Zones March 28: 4 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pacific St. from Breakwater to Harbor Dr. north

Pacific St. from Wisconsin St. to Eaton St.

Pacific St. from Pierview Way to Seagaze Dr.

Expect traffic delays and congestion west of Coast Highway during event.  Please plan travel routes and alternate parking options in advance.  Vacation rental guests should have rental address verification to gain access.  For additional information please call (760) 435-5540.
