The San Diego Chargers are encouraging fans attending Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams at Qualcomm Stadium to bring non- perishable food to help San Diegans in need during the holiday season.
The most needed items are canned meats, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and soup.
Bright red collection bins will be positioned near stadium entrances and in the parking lots.
Fans who cannot attend the game can place items in red bins located in Vons markets throughout San Diego County.
The donated food will also be used to bolster the dangerously low food supply at the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, a Chargers official said.
