San Diego State sophomore running back Donnel Pumphrey was named Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts in the Aztecs 24-14 win over New Mexico on Friday.
This marked the second time in three weeks that Pumphrey took home the honors after winning it two weeks ago for his performance against UNLV.
Pumphrey ran for a career-high 246 yards on 20 carries, and two touchdowns, including a 93-yard rush that tied for third-longest in school history.
His 246 yards were the 13th most in a game in program history, and the Aztecs improved to 6-1 after Pumphrey rushed for more than 100 yards in a game during his career.
Through six games Pumphrey has rushed for 804 yards (seventh in the nation), 11 touchdowns (third in the nation) and is averaging 6.8 yards per carry.
