The San Diego State men’s basketball team practiced in Anaheim Wednesday, undaunted as they play the role of underdogs on the eve of their match-up against the Arizona Wildcats.
The game is set for about 7:20 p.m. Thursday at the Honda Center and will be broadcast by TBS.
Josh Davis, Dwayne Pollee and Xavier Thames addressed several issues in their meeting with the press Wednesday, which can be seen in the video above.
As to the underdog issue? Thames brushed it aside, saying his team has “just gotta go out there and compete” against the top-seeded and heavily favored Wildcats.
But they are big underdogs. Fivethirtyeight.com gives the team only a 1-percent chance of outpacing the rest of the Sweet Sixteen and taking the NCAA title and a 13-percent chance of making the Final Four.
One ESPN pundit though, at least thinks the Aztecs will put a scare into Arizona.
