Chamber Delegation Regional Priorities in Washington D.C. (San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce)

As tariffs take hold and markets tumble in response, business and civic leaders are in Washington, DC to advocate on behalf of businesses in the California and Baja California region, and to meet with federal leaders in the Trump administration.

More than 140 businesses and civic leaders are in the nation’s capital through April 9 as part of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 17th Annual Mission to Washington, DC.

The trip is to focus on regional priorities, such as trade, housing, infrastructure, border efficiency, tourism, and health care.

Policymakers will then begin to shape their agendas under the new administration.

“This delegation is more than just showing up to meetings; it’s about advocating for the resources, policies, and partnerships that help make our binational region the best place to live and work,” said Jessica Anderson, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s interim president and chief executive officer.

“By engaging directly with federal leaders, we’re making sure our priorities are part of the national conversation.”

The delegation was also praised by officials from Baja California.

“This delegation trip offers the appropriate setting to build a binational dialogue for incentives and infrastructure that can not only minimize the economic damage, but also turn this crisis into an opportunity to consolidate and strengthen the CaliBaja region,” said Baja California legislator Ana Santana.
