The city of Oceanside announced the re-establishment of its Youth Commission, creating opportunities for local high school students to participate in local government and community leadership. Applications are now being accepted from Oceanside youth in grades 9-12 who wish to serve on this newly reformed commission.

The Youth Commission will provide a platform for Oceanside’s younger residents to voice their concerns, share perspectives, and contribute to city initiatives. Youth Commission members will work directly with city officials, gaining valuable experience in civic engagement while helping advise on policies that affect our community.

Commission members will have opportunities to:

  • Advise the City Council on matters affecting youth in Oceanside
  • Gain leadership experience and civic knowledge
  • Build professional skills through hands-on government participation
