Mexican smugglers have broken through new segments of the border wall built during Donald Trump’s presidency nearly 3,300 times over the past three years, according to a media report.

The Washington Post compiled the data from unpublished U.S. Customs and Border Protection maintenance records obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.

The Post reported that along one 25-mile segment of new border wall between Naco and Douglas, AZ, there were 71 bollards with visible repairs.

The newspaper said smuggling gangs typically cut the barrier with inexpensive angle grinders and demolition saws obtained from hardware stores.

Trump built 458 miles of new barrier, primarily in remote areas of New Mexico and Arizona, before President Biden halted construction of the controversial barrier after taking office,
