Rep. Sara Jacobs, who represents central San Diego County, said Wednesday that she has tested positive for COVID-19.

Jacobs said she tested negative as recently as Tuesday night, but tested positive on an antigen test Wednesday morning.

“Thankfully, I am fully vaccinated and boosted and am only experiencing mild symptoms,” she said. “I will be isolating and working remotely in accordance with public health guidance.”

“I encourage everyone to get vaccinated, get boosted, test regularly, and stay safe,” the first-term Congresswoman added.

Jacobs recently joined nine other House members for two days of meetings with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other officials amid rising tensions with Russia.

After the delegation returned to the United States on Sunday, Rep. Colin Allred of Texas announced he had tested positive for COVID-19 in a breakthrough case.
