Navy veteran and business owner Paul Kerr picked up the endorsement of Rep. Scott Peters in the race for the 49th Congressional District in north San Diego and south Orange Counties.
“I strongly endorse my fellow Democrat and friend, Paul Kerr in his campaign for Congress, and I look forward to working with him in Washington on the issues facing our country today,” said Peters, who represents much of the city of San Diego.
Kerr is one of a number of Democratic challengers to Republican Rep. Darrell Issa, who narrowly run re-election in 2016 and is widely consider to be vulnerable in 2017.
“I’m honored to have Congressman Peters’ support with this campaign,” said Kerr. “He’s been a great friend to our nation’s veterans and a strong supporter of middle-class values.”
Kerr served in the Navy during the Vietnam era and worked his way through San Diego State University. After graduation, he built a successful investment firm.
