San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer on Monday threw his support behind former District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis in the race for District 4 Supervisor.
“Having worked closely with Bonnie over more than a decade, and having represented portions of District 4, I know that Bonnie will be a great leader on the Board of Supervisors,” said Faulconer. “Her experience as a judge and DA, have given her a working insight into some of the most significant challenges facing San Diego, from homelessness, to mental health, and particularly public safety.”
Dumanis, a Republican, will face former Assemblymember and mayoral candidate Nathan Fletcher, a Democrat, in the non-partisan primary next June.
Dumanis is a former prosecutor and judge who served as district attorney for 15 years.
