A video released Friday by ABC News showing a 16-year-old Mexican boy drinking liquid methamphetamine while being detained by U.S. Customs agents at the San Ysidro Port of Entry continued to attract media attention Sunday.

The surveillance video from the 2013 incident showed the death of Tijuana resident Cruz Velazquez was first shown on several ABC News broadcasts Friday, causing outrage among members of Congress who oversee Customs and Border Protection.

Several YouTube channels showing the video have received thousands of views and the video also made international news Sunday.

The Velazquez family received a $1 million settlement in March as the result of a lawsuit against the U.S. government, but the two officers who allowed the boy to drink the lethal concoction were not disciplined, according to ABC News.

The officers were condemned by some members of Congress, who called for legislation including requiring agents to wear body cameras.
