Secretary of State Alex Padilla will serve coffee in a North Hollywood Starbucks on Tuesday to kick off a statewide voter registration drive in advance of the Nov. 8 general election.

All company-owned Starbucks stores in California will feature a Coffee and Democracy poster listing the state’s voter registration deadline and a link to the Secretary of State’s online voter registration website.

Starbucks is the latest business to partner with Padilla’s Democracy at Work program, which encourages organizations to promote voter registration and voter turnout among customers and employees.

The deadline for registering to vote in California is Oct. 24.
