Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton plans rallies Thursday in two rarely-visited Southern California locations — El Centro in Imperial County and Perris in Riverside County.
After making what the campaign bills as a “major national security address” at The Prado in Balboa Park on Thursday morning, Clinton will head to El Centro, and then to Perris.
Both cities are diverse and rapidly growing, but not major urban centers. El Centro is located on Interstate 8 in a major agricultural area, and Perris is on Interstate 215 midway between Temecula and Riverside.
The rally in El Centro is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the Barcelona Event Center, 330 Wake Avenue. The appearance in Perris is set for 6:15 p.m. at Casa Jiminez, 411 Wilkerson Avenue.
Her opponent for the Democratic nomination, Bernie Sanders, has visited a number of college towns throughout California, including Palo Alto, Santa Barbara, Chico and Davis.
Clinton plans to campaign across the Golden State in the final days before the June 7 Democratic primary.
