In another sign of the impending Presidential primary and general election, the Hillary Clinton campaign on Tuesday opened its first campaign office in San Diego.
The office at 2044 1st Avenue just north of downtown San Diego was opened in a late afternoon ceremony attended by state Assembly Member Toni Atkins and City Councilman Todd Gloria.
“The office opening is part of an ongoing effort to reach voters in advance of the June 7 primary and talk with them about why Hillary Clinton is the only candidate who can break down the barriers that are holding Americans back and build ladders of opportunity and empowerment in their place,” organizers said in a statement.
The Clinton campaign already has offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and Sacramento.
Gov. Bernie Sanders, who is challenging Clinton for the Democratic nomination, opened an office in Hollywood last month, but does not have one in San Diego.
