The names of five candidates will appear on California’s Republican presidential primary ballot in the June 7 primary, including two who have suspended their campaigns, Secretary of State Alex Padilla announced.
Retired pediatric neurosurgeon Ben Carson and former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore will appear on the ballot, along with businessman Donald J. Trump, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
There will be seven candidates on the Democratic ballot, with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders joined by Roque De La Fuente, Henry Hewes, Keith Judd, Michael Steinberg and Willie Wilson.
The American Independent Party ballot will consist of seven candidates, the Green Party ballot five candidates, the Libertarian Party 12 candidates and Peace and Freedom Party three candidates.
Only registered Republicans can vote in the Republican presidential primary. The Democratic primary is open to both Democrats and voters with no party preference.
The deadline to register to vote in the primary is May 23.
