A nighttime vigil for the French cartoonists murdered by Islamic terrorists is planned for 8 p.m. Thursday outside the House of France in Balboa Park.
The Je Suis Charlie-inspired vigil is on behalf of the 12 people killed in Paris Wednesday in a terrorist attack on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.
Attendees are urged to bring French flags, pens and pencils to support free speech.
The House of France is located at 2215 Pan American Road East.
The words “Je Suis Charlie,” or “I Am Charlie,” have gone viral worldwide in a demonstration of support for free speech.
