Some 3,000 people were expected to attend state Sen. Joel Anderson’s annual open house Wednesday night in El Cajon.
The free event at Toyota of El Cajon is an opportunity for Anderson and his staff to meet with constituents and hear ideas for new legislation for 2015.
“This event gives me an opportunity to hear directly from my constituents about their opinions and legislative ideas,” Anderson said. “My best legislative ideas have come from the people I serve.”
He said several of the bills he has introduced originated from suggestions by attendees at the annual event.
The size of the event is such that Anderson’s staff has arranged for remote parking and shuttle buses.
Anderson’s 38th District includes Poway, Santee, El Cajon, La Mesa and most of East San Diego County. He was first elected to the state Assembly in 2006 and to the state Senate in 2010.
