Rep. Susan Davis threw her support to Steve Padilla Friday in the high-profile campaign for Seat 1 on the Chula Vista City Council.
“I am proud to stand with so many elected officials in supporting Steve Padilla for Chula Vista City Council. I look forward to working with Steve on issues important to Chula Vista families,” said Davis, whose district includes parts of Chula Vista.
Padilla, who previously served a term as Chula Vista’s mayor before becoming a port commissioner, has also been endorsed by Rep. Juan Vargas, State Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins and State Senator Ben Hueso.
He is running against John McCann, a two-term councilman who went on to serve on the Sweetwater high school board.
