Councilman Scott Sherman and Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman will meet with District 7 residents Tuesday night, seeking feedback “on public safety issues that affect our city,” organizers said.
Called a Public Safety Town Hall, the meeting is set for 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Bayside Community Center, 2202 Comstock St. in San Diego.
“I receive the best ideas on how to improve local government from the people I represent,” Sherman said. “This town hall is an excellent opportunity for community members to meet with myself and Chief Zimmerman to discuss public safety issues face to face.”
It will be the latest in a series of Town Halls attended by Zimmerman, aiming to hit all nine San Diego council districts.
Her first was in late March in Lincoln Park, where NBC San Diego reported that about 175 people heard the new chief vow to repair any public distrust with the black community.
District 7 includes Allied Gardens, Del Cerro, Grantville, Linda Vista, Mission Valley, San Carlos, Serra Mesa and Tierrasanta.
