San Diego ranked seventh among large American cities in total population growth between 2012 and 2013, according to a report released Thursday by the Census Bureau.
The Census Bureau measured population growth between July 1, 2012, and July 1, 2013, and ranked cities by total population growth as follows:
- New York City: +61,440 to 8,405,837
- Houston: +35,202 to 2,195,914
- Los Angeles: +31,525 to 3,884,307
- San Antonio: +25,378 to 1,409,019
- Phoenix: +24,843 to 1,513,367
- Austin: +20,993 to 885,400
- San Diego: +18,867 to 1,355,896
- Charlotte: +18,420 792,862
- Seattle: +17,770 to 652,405
- Dallas: +15,976 to 1,257,676
San Diego was the eighth largest city by total population in the latest report, the same position as in the previous year’s report.
