Graph from Google Analytics shows age distribution of Times of San Diego readers in September.

Times of San Diego continues to have a large following, with 182,755 people reading articles on the site in September, the sixth full month of operation.

Readership was slightly less than the 184,958 recorded in August, a month that is one day longer than September.

Exactly one-third of reading sessions came from devices in the City of San Diego, 17 percent from elsewhere in San Diego County, and 10 percent from elsewhere in Southern California. The remaining 40 percent of reading sessions were from national and even international locations, thanks to Google News.

As in August, the 25-34 age group accounted for the most reading sessions, followed by the 45-54 and 55-64 age groups.

Mobile use continued to grow, with smartphones used in 35 percent of reading sessions, tablets in 15 percent and desktop and laptop computers in the remaining 50 percent. Times of San Diego uses the latest “responsive design” techniques to automatically re-size for different devices and screens.

The data is from Google Analytics, the most widely used statistical package for online media.
