Central Command released a video Thursday showing scenes from the San Diego-based USS Boxer as it patrols the Arabian Sea to blockade Iran.
Over 2,600 sailors and Marines are deployed aboard the amphibious assault ship, which is small aircraft carrier equipped with helicopters, V-22 Osprey tiltrotors, F-35B stealth jets and giant hovercraft to support a Marine landing.
The minute-long video showed personnel launching helicopters, servicing aircraft, checking the flight deck, loading supplies, training for an assault and monitoring cargo ships.
The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit from Camp Pendleton left San Diego in March and arrived in the Middle East on June 30.
Accompanying the boxer are the amphibious transport dock USS Portland and dock landing ship USS Comstock, both also from San Diego.
As of Thursday, the Navy has redirected 87 commercial vessels, disabled three and boarded two to ensure no ships enter or leave Iranian ports.
