A Marine was killed and another injured while conducting a training exercise aboard the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms on Friday, announced the Marine Corps.

It happened while the Marines were conducting a unit training to prepare for the beginning of Integrated Training Exercise 2-17, said the Marine Corps, in a Facebook post on Saturday.

“We send our prayers and condolences to the families of the Marines killed and injured,” said Brigadier General William F. Mullen III, Commanding General, in a statement. “Our first priority is to support them during this difficult time.”

The identities of the victims were withheld while the Marine notifies their families.
