Coronado-based helicopters from three squadrons serving with the USS John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group are scheduled to return home from deployment on Tuesday, the Navy announced Friday.

The “Chargers” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 14 served aboard the Stennis and supply ship USNS Rainier during their seven-month voyage. The “Raptors” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 71 were embarked aboard the Stennis, the cruiser USS Mobile Bay, and destroyers USS Stockdale and USS William P. Lawrence.

Meanwhile, Detachment 4 from the “Providers” of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 30, were aboard the Stennis.

The helicopters’ missions include logistics and cargo delivery, search and rescue, anti-submarine warfare and support of special warfare operations.

The Mobile Bay, Stockdale and William P. Lawrence are all based in San Diego. Official word has not been provided on when they will arrive home.
