Navy crews are scheduled to begin dredging the area from the fuel pier to Pier 21 at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The work is expected to take place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day through May 10, according to Naval Base Coronado.
Navy officials said the work would involve several vessels, and crews would use localized lighting to illuminate the work zone and to assist in monitoring for green sea turtles and marine mammals.
“Noise and lighting impacts are anticipated to impact local residents,” according to a message on Naval Base Coronado’s Facebook page.
Those affected by the noise can file a complaint at cnic.navy.mil/regions/cnrsw/installations/navbase_coronado/om/NoiseComplaintFor m.html.
