A brush fire charred open terrain at Camp Pendleton on Monday, but posed no structural threats and caused no reported injuries, authorities said.
The blaze erupted around midday in an undeveloped area at the North County Marine Corps station. As of late afternoon, it had blackened roughly 350 acres but remained a safe distance from structures, according to base officials.
It was unclear if the fire was sparked by ordnance or some other cause.
