A spectacular Navy photo shows the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis appearing to cruise under a rainbow.

The photo by Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Ignacio D. Perez was taken while the carrier was on a training mission in the Pacific Ocean.

The Stennis is based in Bremerton, WA, but was formerly based in San Diego.

The ship is the seventh Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarrier in the Navy, named for Senator John C. Stennis of Mississippi. She was commissioned in 1995.
