Two California National Guard aviators suffered minor injuries when the helicopter they were flying made a hard forced landing and flipped onto its side tonight in Ramona.
The UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was extensively damaged by the landing, NBC7 reported, but the fliers were able to evacuate from the wreckage.
The incident occurred at around 5 p.m. during what was described by California National Guard Captain Will Martin as a routine training mission.
The forced landing was made at Ramona Airport on the 2900 block of Montecito Road.
The incident’s cause was not known but was under investigation, according to Martin.
