North County residents may be subjected to increased noise levels this weekend due to around-the-clock firing at training areas at Camp Pendleton starting Saturday and ending early Sunday.

The sounds of the explosions may be heard up to 50 miles away,  depending on atmospheric conditions.

Units will resume training with High Mobility Artillery Rockets (HIMARS) Monday, Oct. 20 from 6:00 a.m. to midnight and will continue until Friday, Oct. 24.

Residents looking for more information regarding the increased noise levels can go to the weekly noise advisories, listed on the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton website.
