Thousands of San Diego Gas & Electric customers were without service following multiple outages in North County on Wednesday.

The outages were mainly reported around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in Oceanside, and included San Luis Rey and Ocean Hills, according to the utility company.

At least 3,059 customers were without power in the mentioned areas, with a restoration time estimated for 9 a.m., SDG&E officials said.

Around 6 a.m., 1,284 outages were detected in Vista, with a restoration set for about 10 a.m.

Additional outages also affected 23 customers in Escondido around 4:50 a.m. Restoration for Escondido customers was set for around 1 p.m. Wednesday, the utility company reported.

The cause of the outages is unclear at this time.
