
A power outage left thousands of homes without electrical service in the far eastern reaches of San Diego County on Wednesday morning.
The blackout struck shortly before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, knocking out power to a total of 2,779 San Diego Gas & Electric customers in Borrego Springs, Canebrake, and Shelter Valley.
Power was expected to be restored to all the affected addresses by midafternoon, according to SDG&E.
The cause of the outage was under investigation.
