Shelter to Soldier will host its second annual Salute to Paws 5K and Gratitude Festival for Dogs Sunday, Nov. 9, at Fox Point Farms in Encinitas.
The pup-optional 5K and festival will raise funds for programs that rescue dogs from shelters and train them to become service animals for post-9/11 veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury, military sexual trauma and other injuries.

After the run/walk, participants can enjoy the views from Fox Point Farms with photo ops, tacos, wood-fired pizza, 21+ beverages, sponsor activations and live music by Dorian Tide. Four-legged friends can cruise pet-focused vendors such as a dog spa by UNITE Doggy ‘Poo and dog bars by Furvor Pet.
Visitors will also have a chance to meet adoptable dogs from The Animal Pad on Rescue Row, supported by Petco Love.

VIP experience tickets are also available to receive specialty cocktails by Tito’s Vodka, curated small bites, gifts and a custom pet picnic.
Registration opens at 8 a.m., followed by an all-levels yoga flow at 8:30 a.m. and 5K kickoff at 9:30 a.m., according to organizers.
Pricing begins at $50 for adults, $25 for children and $10 for furry friends. All 5k registrations include access to the Gratitude Festival.
Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available now. For more information, go to www.sheltertosoldier.org/event.
