Thirsty Thursdays just got a little more tail-waggin’. Every Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m., dogs and their humans are invited to Yappy Hour at Margaritaville Hotel San Diego’s rooftop 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar.

Open to locals and hotel guests, the weekly event provides an opportunity to unwind with your pup, enjoy stunning skyline views, and meet fellow dog lovers over drinks.

Yappy Hour features a specialty dog-friendly menu, including “barktails” such as the Pawgarita —a cucumber and ice blend garnished with cucumber— and the Pupa Colada, crafted with coconut purée and topped with a treat. Canine snacks include the Canine Crudité with fresh vegetables, the Bark Burger featuring a grilled beef patty, and the Paw-lickin’ Chicken, a grilled chicken breast.

On the last Thursday of each month, Yappy Hour adds a themed twist. September’s event, “Yappy Yoga,” takes place Thursday, Sept. 25, and features a free rooftop yoga session led by local pup yoga instructor Amanda Joy. Adoptable dogs from the San Diego Humane Society will also be highlighted with photos and information available. The first 10 dogs to arrive will receive a complimentary Margaritaville bandana, according to a new release.

Looking ahead, October’s Yappy Hour will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, with a Halloween-themed celebration that includes a dog costume contest, festive treats, and a pup parade.

Margaritaville Hotel San Diego’s Yappy Hour continues in the spirit of Jimmy Buffett’s motto—it’s always 5 o’Clock Somewhere, this time with dogs included.
