Lily, an affectionate 8-year-old domestic long-haired cat, is Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s Pet of the Week. Weighing 8 pounds and dressed in a beautiful brown tabby coat, Lily is as easy-going as they come—and she’s hoping to find a new family to call her own.
Lily’s story is one of resilience. She was originally surrendered due to her owner’s allergies. After finding a new home, she enjoyed seven months with her adoptive family before a new relative—also allergic to cats—moved in, forcing another heart-wrenching transition.
Despite the changes, Lily remains calm and adaptable. She’s lived with cats and dogs and doesn’t shy away from meeting new feline friends. Described by shelter staff as mellow and social, Lily’s personality makes her a great match for almost any household.
Lily’s adoption fee is $75 and includes a full medical exam, spay surgery, up-to-date vaccinations, and a registered microchip. Thanks to the Seniors for Seniors program, her adoption fee will be waived for adopters age 60 or older, courtesy of a generous Humane Society benefactor.
Interested adopters can visit Lily at Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Monday, with extended summer hours until 6 p.m. on Thursdays.
