Yes, South County is going to the dogs – again. The ninth annual Dog Gone Fun event returns to Otay Ranch Town Center from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday during the weekly Farmers Market.

The free, pet-friendly event invites families and their four-legged companions for an evening of tail-wagging activities, treats, and giveaways in the heart of Chula Vista.

Here’s what’s planned:

  • Doggie treats (while supplies last)
  • Summer Costume Contest at 6 p.m. at the Popper Fountain (Center Court), with prizes from Otay Pet Vets
  • Complimentary canine fitness evaluations from Otay Pet Vets
  • Dog training tips and demos
  • Free “Pup Cup” treat station
  • Photo ops with dog-themed props
  • Adoptable dogs and info from Chula Vista Animal Services
  • Giveaways and more
