Courtney Reich said she isn’t just selling blowouts — she is selling confidence. Reich, a mother of 6 children, is the new owner of the Drybar location in Del Mar. A long-time businesswoman with a career that began when she was just 16 years old, Reich said she is thrilled to now own a business where women can feel valued.
“Confidence has been my guiding principle and my favorite word,” Reich said. “I believe that confidence is my greatest asset – empowering me to live the vibrant lifestyle I do today while providing for my children.”
Today, Reich sees customers with confidence leave her salon every day.
“When women walk into a Drybar location, many of them arrive with their heads down, but once they see themselves transformed after a blowout, it’s incredible to watch their demeanor shift,” she said. “They walk out with their heads held high, glowing with happiness and newfound self-assurance. For me, Drybar is more than just hair — it’s a confidence booster.”

How does Drybar build that confidence? It starts the moment a person walks into the salon, Reich said.
“It’s about creating an atmosphere where women feel valued, relaxed and cared for,” she said. “From the moment they walk through the door, our team works diligently to ensure every client feels welcomed and understood. We take the time to listen to their needs and desires, making sure they leave not only with a hairstyle they love but also with a renewed sense of confidence.”
As the new owner of the salon, Reich said she hopes to build the clientele while keeping the loyal members. She is also thrilled to take her six kids on this new career journey with her.
“Almost five years ago, my husband tragically passed away in a mountain bike accident, leaving me to navigate life as a single mother to six children,” she said. “The lessons I learned about the importance of financial preparedness became even more relevant during that challenging time. As my children grow, I feel an eagerness to re-enter the workforce and explore new business ventures.”
And, she is very eager to bring her experience to Drybar.
“I am looking forward to combining my skills and experiences in ways that can empower others while also propelling my own ambitions forward,” Reich said. “It’s truly rewarding to witness the joy on [customer] faces as they leave — knowing that our team played a part in helping them feel their most confident selves.”
