Dry conditions will make a swift comeback by midweek, setting the stage for a warming trend, according to the National Weather Service.
A weakening upper-level low-pressure system over the Southwest will continue to drift eastward, accelerating on Thursday. As a result, gradual warming is expected, with lingering showers tapering off by early Thursday.
High temperatures Wednesday are expected to reach 64 near the coast, 60 to 63 in the western valleys, 53 to 58 near the foothills, 47 to 55 in the mountains and 66 to 70 in the deserts, the NWS said.
By the end of the week, a dry and warm pattern will settle in, lasting through Monday.
Coastal temperatures will climb slightly above average, while inland and mountain regions could see highs soaring 12 to 18 degrees above normal.
