
Dozens of hotels in San Diego are offering discounted rates for people affected by the Los Angeles-area wildfires – nearly 150,000 people have been forced to evacuate.
The San Diego Tourism Authority put together a list of over 70 hotels offering special pricing for evacuees across downtown San Diego, Coronado, Point Loma, La Jolla, Mission Bay, Mission Valley and more.
Hotel Indigo San Diego in the Gaslamp Quarter, for instance, is offering a discounted rate to support those impacted by the fire.
Los Angeles County residents can book rooms with a 25% discount and 50% off parking fees through Jan. 31.
Amenity and pet fees at the Gaslamp Quarter location will be waived to ensure that families and animal companions remain together.
In order to receive the discount, visitors must provide a valid Los Angeles address when booking and at check-in. People seeking more information about Hotel Indigo’s discount can call 619-727-4000 or visit its website.
The two largest fires in Los Angeles continued to burn Saturday as the city faced a renewed threat from Santa Ana winds. The Palisades Fire was 11% contained as of Saturday morning after burning 22,660 acres since Tuesday, according to Cal Fire. At least 5,316 structures have been destroyed, as well as at least 426 homes.
The Eaton Fire, meanwhile, is at 15% containment and has scorched 14,117 acres.
