San Diego’s Parks and Recreation Department will host a range of holiday activities this month, many of them free.

The events feature various activities including entertainment, snow days, arts and crafts, jumpers, and even cookies with Santa.

Several events are free to attend and all of them will be child friendly. 

The events include:

  • Bud Kearns Pool – Winter Wonderpool, 4-8 p.m. Friday
  • Scripps Ranch Recreation Center – Winter Movie in the Gym, 4:30-9 p.m. Friday
  • Doyle Recreation Center – Breakfast with Santa, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday
  • Skyline Hills Recreation Center – Whoville Winter Event, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday
  • Azalea Recreation Center – Winter Wonderland, 2-5 p.m. Wednesday
  • Pacific Highlands Ranch Recreation Center – Cookies with Santa, 10 a.m.-noon Dec. 20
  • North Clairemont Recreation Center – Cookies with Santa, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Dec. 20

AgeWell Services also will host Cookies & Cheer events for community members ages 60 and older on Saturday, at Park de la Cruz Community Center; Dec. 19 at the Balboa Park Lounge in Casa del Prado, and Dec. 20, at the Cathy Hopper Friendship Center.

“We are excited to welcome families from all over San Diego this holiday season to join in the wide variety of festive activities our Parks and Recreation Department team has planned,” said Andy Field, the department’s director.
