Patchy fog is expected Sunday morning at the beach and along the coast, extending to include western valleys through the early part of the week, forecasters said.

Above average temperatures also are on the horizon, according to the National Weather Service, though the dry conditions that the region experienced in recent days should abate.

There is a slight chance of patchy dense fog starting after 10 p.m. Saturday along the coast in San Diego and extending into Orange County coasts. A chance of more dense fog increases in the coming days with it stretching from nearshore waters to the coasts and western valleys Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Any fog that develops should clear by late morning each day, according to the NWS.

Highs on Sunday should range from the low-to-mid 70s along the coast and up to 80 heading inland. Lows mostly will range from the upper 40s to low 50s.
