
The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) on Thanksgiving will operate on a reduced holiday schedule for buses and the San Diego Trolley.
On Thursday, MTS riders or holiday travelers should plan for:
- All Trolley lines and bus routes operating on a Sunday schedule.
- No service on Rapid Express Routes 280 or 290 and Rural Routes 888, 891 and 894.
- Rural Route 892 being available on Wednesday, with no operations on Thanksgiving.
- Calling ahead to arrange transportation as an MTS Access subscription user.
- Making direct connections to the airport through Route 992 adjacent to Santa Fe Depot or the San Diego Airport Flyer from the Old Town Transit Center.
MTS will offer its Friends Ride Free holiday promotion on Thanksgiving with every fare-paying adult passenger allowed to bring one guest for free. Youth ride free with a Youth PRONTO card/account through the Youth Opportunity Pass Program.
The regular weekday schedule resumes Friday.
In addition, services such as MTS Information and Trip Planning, PRONTO Support Center and the Transit Store and Customer Service office will be closed on Thanksgiving.
MTS Information and the Pronto center also will have limited hours on Wednesday – from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the information service and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Pronto.
All support services will re-open for normal hours on Friday.
