San Diego will continue its cooling trend this week, with highs in the 70s in most areas and the 80s in the deserts, said the National Weather Service on Monday. Lows will hover in the 60s.

The cooler weather will continue through the week, warming up again by the weekend — but nothing like the record-breaking temperatures ushered in during the first weeks of September.

Additionally, the NWS has issued high wind advisories for parts of the county.

An advisory is in effect in the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning until midnight Monday. West winds are expected between 20 to 35 mph with gusts from 50 to 65 mph.

A wind advisory in Borrego Springs has been issued from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday. West winds from 25 to 35 mph and gusts from 45 to 60 mph are expected.

Gusty winds can blow around unsecured objects, and may contributed to power outages as a result.
