A woman and her child were injured in La Mesa when the car she was driving hit a large parked trailer near the intersection of Parks Ave. and Ohio Place on Wednesday morning.

The woman told police that she had just dropped some of her children off at school when she fell asleep and lost control of her car.

The Honda she had been driving then drifted to the right and struck the trailer, sending it about 60 feet off the roadway, according to Onscene.TV.

The unidentified mother and child were taken to local hospitals with unknown injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
