The San Diego City Council announced the adoption of the City’s first Child and Youth Strategic Plan.
This initiative demonstrates the city’s commitment to fostering a nurturing environment for children, youth, and families.
“Every child in San Diego deserves to grow up with an opportunity to be happy, healthy, and prepared to reach their potential,” said Sean Elo-Rivera, Council President, in a press-release statement “This strategic plan, developed in partnership with the community, provides a framework to better support the holistic development of our young residents, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities to succeed.”
The adoption of the Child and Youth Strategic Plan highlights a vision for creating safe communities where all children and youth can thrive.
This plan is a result of collaboration with community stakeholders, educators, healthcare providers, and families, all aimed at addressing the diverse needs of San Diego’s youth. The program and services targets youth ages 24 and below.
Some of the key priorities and steps for the Child and Youth Strategic Plan are enhancing early childhood education, promoting health and well-being, supporting families, and fostering safe and inclusive communities.
