A semi-trailer pulling Amazon cargo was involved in an accident on the southbound 805 freeway in the University City area early Sunday, blocking traffic for hours, but no one was injured.
The accident took place around 6:30 a.m. just south of La Jolla Village Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver hit the left shoulder guardrail and the traffic metering lights on the onramp, then jackknifed across four of the five southbound lanes and came to a halt facing oncoming traffic.
Both front tires were flat. It was unclear why the driver lost control.
No one was injured, said CHP.
